PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Along the margins of the Zomba Plateau in Malawi lies a treasure trove of mineral diversity. Dominated by Orthoclase as a primary matrix, the region showcases an array of Smokey Quartz, Aegirine, and Zircon as the most prevalent species. Smokey Quartz retrieved from this region ranges from dark gemmy to morion and pitch-black, often featuring Aegirine inclusions, with less frequent occurrences of Riebeckite and Rutile inclusions. Recent discoveries have unveiled Green Chlorite inclusions or phantoms within pockets. Aegirine occurs in distinct forms, appearing as either black shiny or green fibrous single crystals or complex clusters, with classic terminations more commonly observed than acicular terminations. While Zomba specimens might not always possess conventional beauty, they are perpetually intriguing due to their complexity and the fascinating formative processes they represent. Notably, a significant portion of specimens in Zomba displays self-healing characteristics, making them cherished specimens for collectors worldwide. Price is grade dependant.
